The economy is mostly based on agriculture but the town has excellent facilities in the service sector with good shopping, regional hospital, municipal pool and sports centre. It is a great place to live as it has good public transport facilities including a new high-speed rail link with Madrid and the rest of Spain. Both Málaga and Granada airports are about an hour away.
